Over the years, we have created just about every kind of wedding you could imagine, from simple boho elopements on the beach, extravagant modern affairs by the pier, or glamping adventure weddings… we do it all. We’re proud to specialize in wedding design and adventure elopements.
I originally came to Tofino for a school co-op for what was supposed to be a couple months in this beautiful, remote town turned very quickly into a decade plus. I am proud to say that I am a certified wedding planner through the Wedding Planning Institute of Canada.I met my now husband Neil here and, when I’m not getting a bride or groom down the aisle, you can usually find us on the beach with our dog; Rue. Rare Earth Wedding Event Production was founded in 2010 by my dear friend and mentor Sheila Orchiston.
I had the pleasure of working with & learning from Sheila for years before taking over Rare Earth Weddings in 2021. I love what I do, and I believe that shows through in my work. I cant wait to learn about your love story!
Alia Shea is a certified planner from the Wedding planning institute of Canada, she came over to Tofino from Salt Spring Island. When she’s not here in the office or facilitating our elopements, you can find her surfing, adventuring, or walking the beaches with her partner Darcy. Alia loves love, and is dedicated to making everyone’s day as special as it can be! She started with Rare Earth Weddings in 2023 and quickly became an integral member of our team.
Originally from Ontario, Katrina has spent over 10 years immersed in the hospitality and events industry, she is also a certified wedding planner through the Wedding Planning Institute of Canada. Her passion lies in creating meaningful, love-filled experiences—whether that’s an intimate elopement or a full celebration surrounded by friends and family.
Now based on the west coast, Katrina combines her love for the ocean, the outdoors, surfing, and dogs with a deep appreciation for storytelling and connection. She is endlessly inspired by couples and the uniqueness of their love, and is dedicated to curating weddings and elopements that feel personal, intentional, and unforgettable. With calm energy, creativity, and care, Katrina helps couples celebrate in a way that’s true to them.
